Our Projects

The Canadian Coalition Against Climate Change Projects in View

At the Canadian Coalition Against Climate Change (CCACC), we currently have 2 projects in view.

The projects are:

  1. Capacity building to plant 5,000,000 (Five million) trees in 5years.
  2. Training 250 Indigenous youths within the next 5years to become energy advisors.

The government of Canada has set out to achieve a very ambitious plan of planting 2 billion trees within the next decade starting from 2021 to combat climate change in a natural way. Trees naturally strip the atmosphere of carbon dioxide which is one of the green house gases that cause global warming.

The 2 Billion Trees (2BT) program aims to motivate and support new tree planting projects. Over a period of 10 years, by 2031, up to $3.2 billion will be invested in tree planting efforts to support provinces, territories, third-party organizations (for and not-for profit) and Indigenous organizations to plant two billion trees across Canada.

The  planting of trees is a very powerful nature base solution to the problem of climate change.

The Canadian Coalition Against Climate Change (CCACC) is very much excited about this and we are poised to take active part in ensuring that this ambitious plan of the government of Canada sees the light of the day. To this end we are currently building our capacity to be able to plant 5,000,000 (Five million) trees in in Canada in 5years.

This capacity building includes but not limited to the following:

  1. Training 100 indigenous youths in the art and science of forestry and forest management
  2. Training 50 racialized, under-represented, underserved youths, women, the physically challenged and the LGBTQ community.
  3. Expanding our office capacity.
  4. Acquiring the latest forestry technology to ease our work.
  5. Enhancing our supply chain
  6. Hiring contractors
  7. Hiring consultants
  8. Hiring more staff
  9. Staff career development

At the end of this capacity building, we will be more than ready to take on the onerous task of planting 5million trees in Canada within the next 5yrs. In order to achieve this capacity building effort, We are seriously looking to the financial help from the Natural resources Canada (NRCan).

We also have it in plan to engage the various groups to be  trained to help with the tree planting project. They will form the bulk of our work force.

This anticipated support from NRCan does not close the door on other well-meaning individuals, companies or organisations who are interested in finding solution to the twin problem of climate change and global warming facing the earth at the moment. Especially those who are interested in nature base solution to global warming and climate change.

One major pillar of our operations is the training of professionals called energy advisors. We have in our permanent plan the continuous training of energy advisors and we are concentrating on the indigenous youths. We are also giving priorities to women, LGBTQ and the physically challenged persons among the aboriginal’s population of this country.

It suffices to say at this point that energy advisors are technical professionals specially trained in the art and science of energy audits and efficiency. They help home and business owners with energy audits and make recommendations on how they can become energy efficient.

Our plan and vision at CCACC is to train 250 indigenous youths in the art and science of energy efficiency and audits in the next 5 years. After this training, the youths will become employable in the energy efficiency industry. Keep in mind that the energy efficiency industry is critically under-staff at the moment and it is in need of seasoned energy advisors to do energy audits and advice home and business owners on how to become energy efficient and go green. These youths will be independent, and they will contribute to the national economic growth.

We plan to retain some of these youths in our organization after the training.
