What We Do
What We Do
The Canadian coalition against Climate change (CCACC) is a strong advocacy group which stand and speak up for the earth and the environment. We speak up against injurious human activities that put the earth and her peoples in harms way. We are based out of the city of Calgary, AB Canada but we extend our work across the whole country and to other parts of the world.
At CCACC, we carry out climate education and enlightenment campaigns among all citizenry in Canada especially among the underserved, under-represented. These campaigns are to teach, advocate and educate citizens on how to take care of the Earth and the environment in a sustainable manner. This includes encouraging people to go green and also showing them the enormous benefits of going green. In addition, we also help to point the people in the direction of the great rebates, incentives and subsidies available to individuals, organisations and companies that plan to go green.
In our climate advocacy, we also help companies and organisations to come to the idea of sustainability in their operations, we help them set up their sustainability departments , train and empower the departmental staff who will help steer the organisation in the way and manner they operate that is sustainable.
We also support companies and organisations to make and keep commitments on how to green their operations and sustain it.
In the light of the already present climate emergency, it is very imperative that we speak for mother earth and her environment, which we are doing already. It is also very glaring that the climate is changing and it is changing faster than predicted, something has to be done and done very fast so that we don’t come to a climate armageddon!
This action must be taken within the next decade so that we don’t come to a tipping point where things become irreversible. The next decade ends in 2030. The year 2030 is actually a magic year for the whole world, whatever we do in this decade will determine if the earth survives the climate Armageddon or not.
That means our work is cut out for us at CCACC, we shall be taking the message of saving the earth from the impending climate armageddon to every nook and cranny of Canada. We are climate champions, we speak for the earth and speak up against injurious human activities that put the earth in harm’s way!
One major pillar of our operations is the training of professionals called energy advisors. We have in our permanent plan the continuous training of energy advisors and we are concentrating on the indigenous youths and the racialized communities who are the under-served and under-represented. We are also giving priorities to women, LGBTQ and the physically challenged persons.
It suffices to say at this point that energy advisors are technical professionals specially trained in the art and science of energy audits and efficiency. They help home and business owners with energy audits and make recommendations on how they can become energy efficient.
Our plan and vision at CCACC is to train 500 indigenous youths in the art and science of energy efficiency and audits in the next 5 years. After this training, the youths will become employable in the energy efficiency industry. Keep in mind that this industry is critically under-staff at this moment and it is in need of seasoned energy advisors to do energy audits and advice home owners and businesses on how to become energy efficient and go green. These youths will be independent and they will contribute to the national economic growth.
Energy efficiency simply means using less energy to perform the same task, which means eliminating energy waste. Energy efficiency brings a variety of benefits to the adopter such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing demand for energy imports, and lowering our costs on a household, commercial, industrial and economic-wide level.
Energy efficiency adoption is very key to our fight against climate emergency and helping households and businesses to save cost and add to their bottom line.
At the Canadian Coalition Against Climate Change (CCACC) we are very big on energy efficiency and energy audits because we believe that adoption of energy efficiency practices in the homes and businesses will lead to a lot of cost savings and help to reduce green house gas emissions, reduce global warming, and fight climate change.
We have also keyed into several Greener Home programs of the government of Canada which seek to encourage home and business owners to go green and be energy efficient.
And as part of our participation in the program, we currently have 3 interns in training. The interns are training to become energy advisors. Energy advisors are technical professionals that help home and business owners with energy audits and make recommendations on how they can become energy efficient.
CCACC as a climate advocacy and energy efficiency champion organisation, we are ready to support our clients to attain energy efficient levels that will show up massively as a plus to their financial bottom-line and help reduce their carbon foot prints significantly.
The energy efficiency division of our organisation is a major stakeholder to our work as climate champions and advocates and we hope to enrol more than 1000 homes and businesses in our energy audit and energy efficiency program within the next 3 years. This is part of our contribution to the fight against climate change.
Trees are very important in the fight against climate change. They help drive down the amounts of GHGs such as CO2 in the atmosphere, because by their natural workings they take in CO2 for their metabolism. Hence depleting the amounts of harmful CO2.
CCACC has an elaborate plan to make tree planting as one of its cardinal mission and vision in combatting climate change.
Here at CCACC, we have an ambitious plan to plant 1,000,000 trees per year starting from 2023-2028.
